It all starts on 4 August: the twenty robot-minded young people start with a visit in the RoboLab at the Faculty of Engineering where they get an introductory presentation of a number of prototypes from various present research projects.

Following, they are in for project work and lessons – spiced with play and exciting games. During the camp the participants will learn how to build a robot using the pedagogical programming tool called LEGO Mindstorms NXT. The young people also learn, for example, how to control a robot using sensors and how to create a user-friendly and functional design.

A feeling for robots
Through play and inspiring challenges the summer camp provides the young people with an insight into the world of robots. This combination appeals to young people and the tickets for the event were gone in less than a week.

- The participants broadly represent all of Denmark and the overwhelming interest in the playing and learning robots is really great, says Project Manager Louise Skovborg Just, who is looking forward to welcoming the participants to some fun and educational days at the beginning of August.

The Summer Camp is the first of a series of events in connection with the Robot Festival 2008, which is organised by RoboCluster at the Faculty of Engineering.

Great show competition as the peak
The Summer Camp will end with a big show competition at the Rosengård Centre on 7 August. All those interested are welcome to come and see the robots in action when the participants compete on the coolest and best built robot.

The competition is also the opening of an entertaining and different exhibition called ‘Control the Robots – Interactive Robot Show’, which shows on Store Torv at the Rosengård Centre between 7 and 9 August.

Meet the Faculty of Engineering
At the exhibition it is also possible to visit the Faculty of Engineering stand where you can meet a student of Robot Systems Engineering who would be more than happy to answer any questions regarding the study programme, the study environment and much more. Learn more about how you can take part in developing and designing the robots that increasingly helps us in our everyday lives.

The competition will take place at the Rosengård Centre Thursday 7 August between 15.00 and 16.00
